Achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of climate change, environmental and disaster risk reduction policies and programs.

WIN delegates focused on the unique challenges women face in the context of climate change and disaster risk and emphasized the importance of gender-responsive policies in environmental programs. Their participation highlighted the need for women’s leadership in climate action and sustainable development, reinforcing WIN’s commitment to empowering women in environmental decision-making.

Panel on Gender-Responsive Climate Action

WIN led a panel discussing gender equality in climate change policies at CSW 2022. They highlighted the importance of integrating gender perspectives in environmental strategies and discussed how women, especially from marginalized communities, are disproportionately affected by climate disasters. WIN emphasized the need for inclusive policies that empower women as leaders in climate resilience.

Workshop on Empowering Women in Disaster Risk Reduction

In 2023, WIN hosted a workshop focused on disaster risk reduction and women’s roles in resilience efforts. The session explored how women’s unique knowledge and experiences in disaster-prone regions could be leveraged to create effective strategies for reducing risks. WIN called for increased representation of women in decision-making processes related to disaster preparedness.

Roundtable on Digital Equality and Women's Rights

During CSW 2023, WIN participated in a roundtable on digital equality and women’s rights. They discussed the digital divide and the importance of providing equal access to technology and education for women. WIN also advocated for policies that ensure women’s protection online and their active participation in the digital economy.
