Women's full and effective participation and decision-making in public life, as well as the elimination of violence, for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.

At CSW 2021, Women’s Intercultural Network (WIN) actively participated in discussions on women’s leadership and the elimination of gender-based violence. WIN emphasized the importance of increasing women’s participation in decision-making at all levels of governance and advocated for policies that support women’s safety in public and private spheres. They also highlighted the need for intersectional approaches to tackle violence and ensure equitable representation for women in leadership roles.

Women’s Leadership and Decision-Making

At CSW 2021, WIN led a panel on women’s full participation in public life and decision-making. The discussion focused on overcoming barriers to women’s leadership, particularly in politics and governance, and the importance of creating inclusive policies that ensure women’s voices are heard. WIN also advocated for gender-sensitive frameworks that promote equal opportunities for women in leadership roles.

Ending Gender-Based Violence

WIN organized a workshop aimed at eliminating gender-based violence during CSW 2021. The session explored strategies for supporting survivors, prevention techniques, and the importance of legal and social support systems. WIN underscored the need for international cooperation and local community engagement to tackle violence and ensure safety for women and girls globally.

Intersectionality in Gender Equality

At CSW 2021, WIN participated in a deductions focusing on intersectionality in gender equality. They discussed how race, class, and other factors intersect with gender to affect women’s access to opportunities and safety. WIN emphasized the need for policies that address multiple forms of discrimination and ensure equitable access to resources and rights for all women, especially those from marginalized communities.
